How Damon braces differ from classic braces

With classic metal braces, the wire is held in each bracket by a small tie called a ligature. Damon brackets hold the wire with their own clip, so it moves more freely and the teeth can be moved more gently. Patients usually find the days after fitting and after adjustments easier than with classic braces.

How treatment works

Treatment starts with a consultation and digital diagnostics: a 3D image, a cephalogram, photos and impressions. The orthodontist draws up a plan and shows you the expected result. The braces are fitted in one visit, and you need fewer adjustment visits than with classic braces. Treatment usually takes 12 to 24 months, and a retainer keeps the result afterwards.
