Straumann Gum Shaper
A gum shaper, also called a healing abutment, is a small temporary cap fitted onto the Straumann implant once it has healed into the bone. It shapes the gum tissue around the future crown so that the finished tooth looks like it grows out of the gum naturally.
When it's placed
Usually 3 to 6 months after implant placement, once the implant has integrated. The gum shaper stays in for around two weeks, then it's removed and a digital scan is taken for the permanent abutment and crown.
Price
The Straumann gum shaper starts at 250 GEL and is priced separately from the implant. It's a standard step in every Straumann implant treatment.
