Straumann SLA Active Implant
Straumann is a Swiss implant system and the second brand we work with at M Clinic. The SLActive version has a surface the manufacturer developed for faster bone integration, which is one reason surgeons choose it when healing time matters.
When Straumann is chosen
Both Straumann and Megagen are premium systems with high biocompatibility and strong long-term results. The choice comes down to your case: bone quality, the position of the implant, how quickly it needs to be loaded, and your budget. Your surgeon will explain the reasoning at the consultation, with your 3D scan on the screen.
How placement works
Treatment starts with a CBCT 3D scan and a digital scan of your teeth. The surgeon plans the exact position of the implant, often with a surgical guide, and places it under local anaesthetic. When a tooth still has to come out and the bone is sound, the implant can go in during the same visit. Healing usually takes 3 to 6 months before the permanent crown is fitted.
Surgeries are performed by maxillofacial surgeon Giorgi Rakviashvili and surgeon Nukri Rogava.
Price
A Straumann SLActive implant costs 2,500 GEL. The gum former and the individual abutment are priced separately, and the crown is planned after healing. TBC Bank instalments are available.
Questions patients ask
How long does a Straumann implant last? With proper hygiene and regular check-ups, decades. Straumann provides a long-term manufacturer's warranty.
Is Straumann better than Megagen? Both are reliable systems. The right one depends on your case, not on the brand name, and your surgeon will recommend one for a specific reason.
