Vertical Alveolar Ridge Augmentation (segment)

When bone has been lost in height, not just in width, the ridge is too low to hold an implant of the right length. Vertical ridge augmentation rebuilds the height of the bone across a segment of the jaw so that an implant can be placed securely.

When it's needed

Vertical bone loss usually follows a long-missing tooth, a past infection, or advanced gum disease. The CBCT 3D scan shows how much height is left. If an implant of the needed length won't fit, the surgeon plans vertical augmentation first.

How it's done at M Clinic

Under local anaesthetic, the surgeon rebuilds the height of the ridge with bone material held in place by a membrane or a fixed frame. The graft needs several months to heal and turn into stable bone. The implant is then placed into the rebuilt ridge. Vertical augmentation is technically more demanding than horizontal, so it's planned and performed by our surgeons, Giorgi Rakviashvili and Nukri Rogava.

Price

Vertical ridge augmentation of a segment starts at 2,500 GEL. The final figure depends on the size of the defect and is confirmed after the 3D scan.
